Breast augmentation with implants

The decision to undergo breast augmentation is rarely based on a spur-of-the-moment impulse—it is usually the result of careful consideration. This makes a comprehensive consultation all the more important, during which we work together to determine which implants and surgical techniques will yield the perfect result for your body and lifestyle. We use state-of-the-art 3D simulations to visualize the desired outcome in advance. Whether subtle or clearly visible, the result should always align with how you feel about your body and your daily life. Our goal: an overall aesthetic that looks authentic.

Modern breast augmentation offers a wide range of options today. With us, you won’t receive a “one-size-fits-all” solution, but rather a treatment plan tailored specifically to you. Which technique, which implant, and which surgical method is perfect for you depends on your anatomy, your current situation, and, of course, your personal expectations. At our practice in Hanover, we take plenty of time to develop exactly the right plan for your breast augmentation with implants.

We use only high-quality silicone implants filled with a cohesive, dimensionally stable gel. They retain their shape, are leak-proof, and feel very natural. Depending on your preferences and physical condition, there are several options available:

• Implant shapes:
  • Round – ideal for added fullness in the upper breast area
  • Anatomical (teardrop-shaped) – for a particularly natural, “breast-like” profile
• Implant surface:
  • Nano- or microtextured – modern surfaces with improved biocompatibility
• Implant sizes & projections:
  • We select implants with varying base widths and projections—this allows us to achieve a harmonious overall look that complements your figure

Depending on the nature of your breast tissue and the desired result, there are several placement options:

• Subglandular – directly under the breast gland (suitable if there is sufficient natural tissue)
• Submuscular – under the pectoralis major muscle (ideal for very slender women)
• Dual-plane – combines both options for a particularly natural result with good coverage

We will discuss together which placement is right for you—taking into account aesthetics, feel, and physical activity.

The incisions are made in such a way that they are barely visible once healed. At our practice, depending on the individual situation, we use:

• In the inframammary fold (inframammary) – usually preferred, as it allows for the best control over implant placement and is barely visible
• At the edge of the areola (periareolar) – possible if a breast lift is also desired
• In the armpit (transaxillary) – minimizes scarring, but is technically more complex

The internal bra provides long-term support for your implant and can be naturally formed by your own tissue during the implant surgery. Depending on your anatomy, we can use various techniques for creating the internal bra, such as a fully submuscular placement or supportive tissue anchors at the lower pole of the implant.

Not all breast augmentations are the same—sometimes a combination of different techniques is the best solution:

• Breast Augmentation with Lift:
  If both volume and shape have been lost (e.g., after pregnancy), the breast can be lifted and augmented in a single procedure. This results in a more youthful, lifted appearance.
• Hybrid breast augmentation:
  With this method, we combine an implant with autologous fat. Advantage: The implant provides the basic volume, while the autologous fat ensures smooth transitions, a contoured décolletage, and a particularly natural feel.
• Breast Augmentation with Autologous Fat:
  If only a slight increase in volume is desired, the breast can be augmented entirely without implants. The results appear particularly harmonious.
