Look younger, look natural—a personalized facelift for a fresh new look and defined contours.

At our practice in Hanover, we offer a variety of facelift procedures tailored to the individual needs of our patients. Whether it’s a mini-facelift, SMAS facelift, or deep-plane facelift—or a combination of these with other procedures—we’ll work with you to choose the right approach to achieve a natural and harmonious result.

The face is our mirror—no other part of our body reveals the signs of aging as clearly. Over the years, the skin loses its elasticity, connective tissue and muscles slacken, and fat deposits sag. The contours become softer, and the tissue shifts downward: defined facial features turn into wrinkles, and a sharp jawline becomes “sagging cheeks.” The neck also loses its firmness—the face looks tired, even though you still feel young and full of vitality.

This method not only tightens the skin but also the underlying structures, ensuring long-lasting results.
A minimally invasive procedure for patients with mild signs of aging, allowing for a quick recovery.
To achieve a harmonious overall appearance, we often combine a facelift with a neck lift.
A minimally invasive method for tightening and contouring the face without surgery.
Non-invasive methods can help reduce the first signs of aging. However, once the effects of gravity become clearly visible, gentle treatments alone are no longer sufficient. In such cases, surgical intervention offers the possibility of repositioning deep tissue, removing excess skin, and achieving lasting facial rejuvenation—without resulting in an unnatural appearance.
A facelift can involve the following areas, either individually or in combination:
Depending on your individual findings and preferences, different techniques are used. Our goal: A natural-looking, fresh face that preserves your identity—only younger, clearer, and firmer.

Many people considering a facelift are primarily driven by a specific feeling: they look in the mirror in the morning and something no longer looks fresh—their eyes appear heavier, the crease in their eyelids is more noticeable, and the corners of their mouth droop slightly. This feeling is justified. But it doesn’t automatically mean that a full facelift is the right answer.
A classic facelift is a comprehensive procedure that addresses the cheeks, jawline, neck, and the deep structures of the face. It is the treatment of choice when the face as a whole has lost its firmness. Yet in many cases, the cause of the discomfort is more localized—and the solution, accordingly, smaller and more precise.

Not every face ages the same way. That’s why there isn’t just one type of facelift. Depending on your age, skin type, the degree of sagging, and your individual goals, a different technique may be appropriate. At Dr. Limbourg’s practice in Hanover, we offer the full range of modern facelift techniques—always tailored to your personal situation.
The mini-lift is particularly suitable for younger patients with mild wrinkles and early signs of excess skin in the cheek area. The procedure is performed through a small S-shaped incision in front of the ear. Only the skin is tightened—the muscles and deeper structures remain untouched.
Advantages:
Limitations: Because only the skin is tightened, the result is less permanent and may lead to a faster loss of elasticity. This method is not suitable for severely sagging tissue.
The SMAS facelift (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) is one of the most commonly used methods—and for good reason. It tightens not only the skin but also the deeper layers of connective tissue and muscle that are crucial for facial contouring.
Through precisely placed incisions at the hairline and around the ear, the skin and SMAS layer are separated and repositioned to create a more youthful appearance. Excess skin is removed, leaving the skin loosely draped over the tightened underlying structure—for a natural, relaxed result without a “mask effect.”

Benefits:
The MACS facelift (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension) is a less invasive technique that involves smaller incisions, usually limited to the temple area. Here, too, the SMAS is tightened, but using vertical suspension threads that reposition the tissue deep within the tissue.
Ideal for:
Advantages:
Limitations: The effect on the neck and chin area is limited—SMAS or deep-plane techniques are better suited for these areas.
These techniques are particularly suitable for older female patients with significant tissue laxity. Unlike the SMAS facelift, the entire SMAS connective tissue and the neck muscle (platysma) are detached from the underlying tissue and reshaped as a single unit.

The Presto Facelift performed at Dr. Limbourg’s practice is an advanced version of the deep-plane facelift. What makes it special: While the deep structures are repositioned, the face’s natural retaining ligaments remain intact. These ligaments determine your individual facial expressions and ensure that your facial expressions remain authentic.
Ideal for:
Benefits:
The midface lift focuses on the central part of the face: the cheeks and the nasolabial region. It is particularly suitable for patients who appear “tired” even though their skin is not significantly sagging overall.
Technique:
The incision is usually made discreetly below the lash line. From there, the deep connective tissue is released and re-anchored—with visible results on cheek shape, cheekbone definition, and the depth of the nasolabial fold.
