Dr. Anne Limbourg is known for her approach to plastic surgery, which combines professional expertise with a compassionate touch. She studied medicine in Göttingen, London, and the United States (Omaha, Nebraska), earning her doctorate with honors.
Her medical and scientific training subsequently took her to Hannover Medical School, supplemented by a fellowship at the renowned Harvard Medical School in Boston (2001–2003). There, she not only honed her surgical skills but also refined her commitment to precision, research, and ethically responsible medicine.
Dr. Limbourg completed her residency in plastic and aesthetic surgery at the MHH, in the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic, Hand, and Reconstructive Surgery under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Peter M. Vogt. Her focus: complex reconstructive procedures—such as those following breast cancer, accidents, or severe burns. She completed her habilitation in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery in 2018—a testament to her deep scientific roots.

She gained experience in aesthetic facial surgery through, among other things, clinical rotations with leading specialists such as Dr. Yoram Levy, Prof. Dr. Dr. med. J. Bruck, and Prof. Dr. med. Wolfgang Gubisch, a pioneer in modern rhinoplasty.
As a senior physician at the Alster-Klinik Hamburg, Dr. Limbourg assumed responsibility for the aesthetic department in 2019—with a clear focus on breast and rhinoplasty. Here, she further developed her holistic understanding of aesthetic transformation: not merely as a correction, but as a targeted enhancement of one’s body image.
Today, in her own practice, she combines medical excellence with personal care. More than 30 international peer-reviewed publications, textbook articles, regular speaking engagements at conferences, and memberships in leading professional societies underscore her expertise. As an expert reviewer for the Lower Saxony Medical Association, she also contributes her knowledge to the advancement of medical standards.
